Green Country Behavioral Health Services, Inc. (GCBHS) is a private, non-profit community behavioral health center created in 1979 in response to the need for comprehensive mental health services in Muskogee and surrounding areas. Since incorporation, our behavioral health base has grown as we expanded into care for families and children, including early childhood programs and day care. GCBHS has operated as Grantee for the Muskogee County Head Start and Early Head Start programs since 1997.

The GCBHS staff is committed to providing compassionate, inclusive behavioral health care. We offer a full continuum of care including assessment, treatment for addictions, co-occurring disorders, counseling, case management, and traditional mental health conditions. We also offer crisis intervention, and provide two community-based crisis stabilization units – one serving adults and one for children and adolescents ages 10 through 17.

No matter what the presenting issue, our primary goal is to deliver the highest quality and most cost-effective treatment. This commitment extends to the family and community as a whole.

We believe in providing services that empower our consumers to grow and change by recognizing their unique values and capabilities. Our services build upon each person’s strengths and weaknesses, and we promote recovery and integration into the community. The dignity of each individual is recognized, respected, and reinforced.

GCBHS holds accreditation by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities,) with our most recent survey resulting in our fourth consecutive, three-year accreditation.

GCBHS programs are partially funded by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
